Vincentric Names 2018 Jeep Wrangler a Best Value in Canada

Using its proprietary Dynamic Cost to Own database, U.S.-based statistical analysis firm considered everything from total ownership expenses and market pricing to insurance and repair costs, fuel consumption to maintenance needs and depreciation. The results were clear: the all-new Jeep Wrangler would earn the "Best Value Compact SUV/Crossover" award by a margin. In fact, according to Vincentric President David Wurster, 2018 Wrangler ownership costs were "more than 10 percent lower than expected," making the model of 70-plus-years of rugged Jeep craftsmanship, according to the pros, the most impactful SUV for investment.

So, what came together to enable the new Wrangler to pull ahead of the rest?

For one, it offers even better 4x4 capability than last year, owing to four-wheel-drive systems like Selec-Trac, Command-Trac, and Rock-Trac, not to mention hardware from next-gen Dana axles to Tru-Lok electric axle locks and more.

Secondly, its design's been fully modernized. Wrangler is now constructed of lightweight, high-strength aluminum, flanked by an aluminum-and-magnesium swing gate and topped off for style by a Jeep CJ-inspired keystone grille and iconic round headlighting.

Wrangler is also host to a couple of the most advanced and fuel-efficient powertrains for SUVs around -- a turbocharged 2.0-litre I4 and a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6. We can even expect to see an ultra-economical 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 with ESS come available in the next lineup in 2019, the result of overwhelming demand.

There are also more open-air options than before, thanks to both an off-road-ready fold-down windshield and four top choices -- one soft, two hard, and a Sky One-Touch power-operated variant.

You can also look forward to technology at the top of the line in the industry. It ranges from fourth-generation Uconnect infotainment in 5.0-, 7.0-, or 8.4-inch touchscreen options with pinch-and-zoom functionality to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a boon for smartphone users off the beaten path.

Finally, 2018 Jeep Wrangler offers loads of safety and driver-assistance features at the cutting edge. There are more than 75 options to choose from for wraparound protection and ultimate peace of mind.
